ARLINGTON, TX – Grammy Award-winning superstar Tim McGraw will headline “XLV Countdown Live From Cowboys Stadium” presented by Frito-Lay on Friday, September 10, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Tickets go on sale Saturday, June 26, at www.ticketmaster.com or by dialing (800) 745-3000, with most seats priced at a family-friendly $25.

The star-studded celebration will also feature seldom-seen NFL Films archival footage projected onto massive screens and the Cowboys Stadium scoreboard and scored live by the 90-piece XLV Symphony Orchestra, a rare public performance by Fort Worth’s own Van Cliburn, a historic tribute to the Dallas Cowboys’ 50th anniversary and a celebration of the career of newly-minted Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith.

More announcements are expected this summer.

“North Texas has such an obvious passion for both music and football and it will be an unbelievable experience to be a part of the official countdown to Super Bowl XLV,” McGraw said. “This will be more than simply a concert, but rather a celebration and Cowboys Stadium is the perfect venue to host such an event.”

Said Smith, who is set to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 7, “This is really special and I am so humbled to be honored in such a way upon my return from Canton. This is a very special evening for me and my family to be able to share this with the greatest fans in America, who have shown me so much love and support throughout my career.”

In April, Frito-Lay and its parent PepsiCo became a partner of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee. As part of the commitment, Frito-Lay and PepsiCo are presenting sponsors of the Host Committee’s Kick-Off Concert Series. “XLV Countdown: Live From Cowboys Stadium” serves as the culmination of the Kick-Off Concert Series, which began with a show by Faith Hill at Fort Worth’s Bass Hall on March 6 and a performance by Sting at Dallas’ Winspear Opera House on May 22.

“As a proud member of the North Texas community, there was no question that Frito-Lay would join the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee,” said Al Carey, president and CEO, Frito-Lay North America. “PepsiCo and its broad portfolio of products are part of the football experience. This sponsorship only deepens our relationship and commitment to this quintessential American pastime.”

Live Nation and Host Committee partner, CorporateMagic, will handle event production for “XLV Countdown: Live From Cowboys Stadium.” NFL Films is providing original content, including charting symphonic scores to accompany its film tributes. The University of North Texas’ internationally acclaimed College of Music is assembling the 90-piece XLV Symphony Orchestra.

Super Bowl XLV will be played in Cowboys Stadium on Feb. 6, 2011.

McGraw officially announced his participation in “XLV Countdown: Live From Cowboys Stadium” before a sold-out audience at Superpages.com Center in Dallas on Saturday, June 12. The country artist has sold over 40 million units and dominated the charts with 31 #1 singles. He has won three Grammy Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, three People’s Choice Awards and numerous other honors. McGraw recently co-starred with Sandra Bullock in the hit film The Blind Side and is currently shooting Love Don’t Let Me Down in Nashville, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow.

The NFL Supplemental Draft is this Thursday and nobody knows if the Cleveland Browns will make a decision on a player to join their team. Bernie Kosar was the last player selected by the Browns in the Supplemental draft in 1985. The premier player in this years draft is Harvey Unga from BYU. Josh Price-Bent listed at 6- foot-2 315 pounds, a defensive tackle from Illinois could also get drafted this year. I am not predicting for the Browns to make a move but it’s something to come to Brownsgab.com to check out and see if your team made a move.
